Sansepolcro is home to some 6 museums:
The Aboca Museum, an original, one-of-a-kind museum dedicated to Herbs and that investigates the history of the age-old relationship between humans and plants. Inside the stunning rooms of Palazzo Bourbon del Monte in Via Niccolò Aggiunti 75, visitors can discover the valuable herbariums, take part in interactive tours and find out more about pharmaceutical botany.
Civic Piero della Francesca Museum (Museo Civico Piero della Francesca), another important museum located in via Niccolò Aggiunti, is home to some of the most prestigious works by Piero della Francesca. The visitor experience consists of ten exhibition rooms arranged on the ground and first floors, as well as the basement. It is also connected to the Birthplace of Piero della Francesca Foundation (Fondazione Casa di Piero della Francesca), which is located along the same street, in the stately home once inhabited by the master of perspective.
CasermArcheologica, a contemporary venue for exhibitions, events and artistic residencies is another popular attraction. The Stained Glass Museum (Museo della Vetrata) in St John the Baptist Church (Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista) is home to a collection of stained glass windows and showcases objects created in the 1800s and 1900s. Founded in 1977 as a centre for research and studies on the Resistance, the Resistance Museum (Museo della Resistenza) houses a library containing 2500 volumes on local history.
Visitors who venture further afield to neighbouring towns can visit the State Museum of Palazzo Taglieschi (Museo Statale di Palazzo Taglieschi) and the Battle Museum (Museo della Battaglia) in Anghiari.
Or the Diary Museum (Museo dei Diari) in Pieve Santo Stefano.
Or, in Caprese Michelangelo, the Museum of the Birthplace of Michelangelo (Museo Casa Natale di Michelangelo Buonarroti)
Or even the Madonna del Parto Museum (Museo della Madonna del Parto) in Monterchi.
Or, in Badia Tedalda, the Municipal Museum of the Upper Marecchia Valley (Museo Comunale dell’Alta Valmarecchia Toscana).
The neighbouring region of Umbria also offers myriad attractions, including Bufalini Castle (Castello Bufalini) in San Giustino, cultural destinations such as Citta di Castello and the enchanting hamlets of Citerna, Montone and Santa Maria Tiberina, from where visitors can enjoy breath-taking views over the valley.



Spiritual excursions
Tuscany boasts a wealth of locations associated with Christianity and spiritual life in general
Just a short distance from Sansepolcro, it is possible to visit the La Verna Sanctuary (Santuario de La Verna), on the border of the Casentino area, and follow the Franciscan trail that takes in Montecasale Convent (Eremo di Montecasale), on the hills outside Sansepolcro, before continuing on to Assisi, in the heart of Umbria.

Nature
Immediately outside the walls of its villages and towns, the Valtiberina is covered in verdant vegetation. The area boasts unspoilt spaces and 5 Regional Nature Reserves:
